Imposter Syndrome is a psychological term referring to a “pattern of behavior where people doubt their accomplishments and have a persistent, often internalised fear of being exposed as a fraud.” Chance and Imes, 1978
However, this is NOT a diagnosis or something that one needs to take on board and keep referring too. This term disempowers your performance, and diminishes your confidence.
There is a way to turn this around.

There is a way to call it as it really is, recognise your abilities and worth, and step into the situation with courage and confidence.
These moments of self-doubt feel so real and valid however, if we stay stuck in them and allow them to take control of our thinking, then we are allowing fear to take over.
These moments of self-doubt can occur at any time, and chip away at our self-confidence until one day we realise we are overwhelmed, not being true to ourselves, not able to show who we are, and unable to use our innate strengths.
So lets turn this around!
If we keep holding on to the label of ‘imposter syndrome’ we are setting ourselves up to remain in an uncertain and shaky environment. This type of mentality makes it hard to succeed.
